A FASCINATING ADVENTURE AND LEARNING PROCESS

There must be as many countless benefits from joining the UM as there are countless stages of growth in anyone’s eternity.

(Strangely, Unificationists tend to just focus on 3 stages. Probably due to their ingrained belief in the magic of the number 3 which they have adopted as the mold for everything…)

I must say I have found real benefits and learned precious lessons through the successive steps of my UM adventure:  from my naive ignorance and blind faith in “True Parents” to the disturbing awareness of the UM delusion until the final liberating refusal to be manipulated any longer.

Along my endless path of continuous flowering, these 3 steps will eventually have no more importance than the first 3 weeks I spent at kindergarten…

So here is what I can recollect from the successive episodes of my kindergarten Unificationist experience: the messiah game, the end of the recess and the unstoppable learning process away from the UM manipulation…

1. The messiah game: an elating experience of seeing oneself as a chosen disciple and savior.

At this stage our blind faith provides us with an exciting new power:

-A childish pride to be specially chosen to attend the “Korean second advent”, once we had been fascinated by the unchecked “DP logic” and the embellished UM legends.

-An unrealistic confidence to actively invest oneself in “historical events” and imminently establish an ideal world.

-A unique opportunity to affiliate with idealistic, dynamic and loving people from all nationalities, languages and cultures.

-A rewarding feeling to overcome trials together “for God and mankind’s sake”.

-A genuine emulation and strong desire to progress, to grow in heart, and develop new skills.

2.  The end of the recess and the disturbing awareness of the poor reality of the Unification movement.

After some time, we start opening our eyes and become more and more annoyed by:

-The disturbing new “spiritual messages” which justify stranger and stranger “providences”

-The weird objectives which tend to become pure activism with justified plays of roles and surprising “indemnity conditions” (the recurrent:  you are in the position of… and you restore this or that …)

-The permanent TP personality cult. The idolatry of the idealized, but dysfunctional and corrupt Moon family.

-The required absolute obedience which becomes a choking way of life preventing initiatives, creativity, healthy critical mind and self-reflection.

-The TP’s recurrent mention of members' unworthiness. It tends to sadly become Unificationists’ self-accepted identity.

3. The continuation of the learning process with the liberating refusal of the UM manipulation.

Finally in spite of it all, we can keep flowering since we could learn that:

-As vulnerable human beings, we can unknowingly be manipulated and utilized to fulfill someone else’s megalomaniac agenda.

-We have a unique God given value that doesn’t depend on anyone else’s opinion. We certainly deserve and need God’s Love, but not controlling gurus.

-We can learn from others, appreciate their merits without condoning their misbehaviors.

-Our genuine acts of love and compassion, together with our honest personal reflection to follow our conscience are unstoppably leading us to God.

-For Peace sake and for everyone’s happiness, God gives us the wisdom to expose those who want to confiscate others’ freedom under false pretenses.

We all have been given, as our most precious gift, the ability to marvel at genuine expression of Love. No one can ever claim to have the monopoly of such wonders.

Let’s then keep focusing on the endless blessings in disguise that life has in store for each one of us.

We all do have the astonishing ability to happily welcome them in the midst of most improbable situations beyond the Mooniverse …
