TRADING PLACES: THE REMAKE?

In the 1983 American comedy “Trading places” starring Eddy Murphy, two people’s positions are reversed as part of an elaborate bet.

I really enjoyed watching this pleasant fiction movie, with great actors and a funny scenario.

Sometimes however reality seems to catch up with fiction. This might very well be case with the recent hectic change of leadership within the UM…

Aren’t we now witnessing with the present Unificationist saga -and this time for real- the remake of the “Trading places” movie?

The scenario starts in 2012, right after the authoritarian UM self-declared messiah Sun Myung Moon “ascended” toward the lowest hellish spiritual realm:

When SMM reached the dictators’ frozen wasted land which had been his well-deserved assigned place in the spirit world, he realized he was all alone with absolutely no one to subserviently bow to him. He also realized he was completely broke, for no one would give him even a single dime anymore.

He felt hungry but no one was there to prepare a meal for him. He felt miserable and started then to question himself about who he really was.

In this desolate place, he soon met his North Korean pal Kim Il Sung who arrogantly told him: “Didn’t I manage much better than you the safe continuation of my life accomplishments?“

SMM could not but admit that it was true. He definitely had poorly prepared the future of his weird cult.

Then Kim Il Sung added: “I bet any uneducated elderly lady like Hak Ja Han can run your religious con even better than your young appointed son!”

And that’s actually how Hak Ja Han came to momentarily occupy SMM’s throne and replace him to become the new authoritarian Unificationist leader.

Such a scenario could be both a plausible Moon biopic and a surprising 21st century remake of the movie “trading places”.

Probably... but with the huge difference that humor is sadly missing among totalitarian saviors…and that actually nobody cares who will win the insignificant bet.
