Beyond the mooniverse

A liberating perspective on the deceptively idealized Unification Movement and its idolatry of the Moon family. May these insights help misled generous souls to break free from the Unificationist treacherous manipulation and subtly induced spiritual enslavement, with love and forgiveness...

THE UNHOLY UM TRADITION OF "CHEATING FOR GOD"

“Cheating for God” justifies deceitfully grabbing people’s money

The Unificationist “Divine principle” is a treacherous teaching. It has subtly led idealist religious people in search of authenticity, to confusingly justify devious behaviors, and then steadily promote reprehensible means as God’s ways to establish His kingdom on earth.

This Unificationist tradition of “cheating for God” is rooted in dubious Biblical legends which are sadly taken as a model. One of its daily practical application which consists in secretly deceiving people to extort their money, has recently been exposed in Japan.

Sun Myung Moon justified his pernicious teaching through cherry picking and interpreting the strangest Biblical stories that are mentioned in the Old Testament.

Actually, the Old Testament is surprisingly an arbitrary selected mixture of numerous plain fictional stories and possible allusions to historical facts that have obviously been revisited and which therefore can’t ever be considered as truthful narratives.

However, if there is one part of the OT that all humans should attentively consider, it’s truly the Ten Commandments. How then can lying, cheating, deceiving and stealing (perhaps together with the extra bonus of adultery) ever be promoted by Sun Myung Moon as God's providential ways to accomplish His will?

Can the same unchanging loving God who absolutely forbids these misbehaviors, promote them at the same time?  Unavoidably such a mentally disturbed and unpredictable God would alas keep entertaining chaos as a result of His inherent schizophrenia.

Besides, one can wonder: Would a place filled with people whose motto is “the ends justify the means” be a safe haven?  Could such a place perspicaciously and trustingly be branded as Heaven?

The mythological stories of Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham and Jacob are mere fictions which therefore couldn’t have any impact on human history. These thousands of years old narratives have probably been long transmitted by hearsay before being collected, edited, improved, added upon and modified to fit their public. No need to mention that these narratives had of course the prime objective to upgrade Hebrews as God’s Chosen Ones.

Sun Myung Moon, as many other Korean “messiahs”, has been using these dubious Old Testament biblical accounts to both justify his own misbehavior and simultaneously promote his excessive ambitions to appear as God’s champion for our times.

Sun Myung Moon conveniently explained he was following Jacob’s course and praying to inherit Salomon’s wisdom. He had indeed chosen peculiar heroes who fitted perfectly his authoritarian personality and his ambition to dominate others by all possible means.

Does Jacob‘s fantastic story deserve to be labelled as the victorious model of God’s providential ways? In spite of highly emotional episodes within its imaginative scenario, Jacob’s extravagant “victory” was based on lies, cheating and stealing...and bad conscience.  Enough material for a fictional thriller, but alas with a mediocre hero no one would honestly dream to imitate.

What about Salomon who was living with hundreds of wives and concubines? Should he be a genuine model to follow? May be within a non-Christian Korean society where it was perfectly accepted that leaders be polygamous and deserve to have uncountable concubines, but definitely not within a puritan western Judeo-Christian society.

As water and oil can’t mix together, it’s obvious that the ideals of lasting love, peace and co-prosperity can’t ever be associated with the unholy Unificationist tradition of “cheating for God”.
