MENDING THE CRACKS

One stitch in time saves nine…But some cracks are really beyond repair and stitches can’t help anymore.

That’s precisely what has been happening within the Unification Movement. Too many unnoticed deep-seated cracks have been developing long before they shockingly appeared in the open.

The UM shaky foundations and its ingrained corruption have been hidden for years. When we now consider its divisions who can ever imagine it’s still possible to save it? Only die-hard loyal members in spite of all provided evidences can still believe in it. They stubbornly refuse to admit the cruel reality. They seem forever trapped in the parallel Mooniverse they won’t leave before it ultimately implodes. Some subtly induced fear keeps them captive…

Obviously, the present UM divisions threaten its members’ very identity. Unificationists are now profoundly challenged in their inner heart. They need to question their original motivation and the reasons of their dedicated involvement in support of a cause that does not make sense anymore.

So, it’s very pathetic to see sincere members within each of the split unificationist groups secretly trying to keep alive an unrealistic dream which is unfortunately based on lies and deceits. They keep endlessly repeating the same old fictions stories they have been taught for years. So, they uphold this surreal hope for world unity around the idealized “True Family”.  And a never-ending perfect bliss should soon appear where Mrs Moon, H1, H2, H… would freakishly reign together with genuine love !

But while members of these Unificationist factions keep sleepwalking, their leaders are clearly showing that their primary concern is nothing else but absolute control. Their sole focus is to prove they are totally right and others are totally wrong. How could reconciliation ever be possible on such grounds?

One of the first acknowledged cracks within the UM has been the official excommunication of H1 by “True Parents”. Normally for any idealistic believer, the word "excommunication" in itself should have resonated as a really ironic and incongruous term. This shocking statement from so-called saviors and unifiers was suddenly sounding like both an unspoken cruel awareness of failure and an implicit confession of imposture. Are not messiahs supposed to be way above theological doctrines? Aren’t they experts in loving strategies heading towards unity? Through their obvious bigoted and divisive declaration, “True Parents” have truly shown who they were. They revealed themselves to be mere megalomaniac opportunists. They were using religious words of love, peace and unity to hide their fake divine mandate, while being desperately hungry for power…

From then on, things unavoidably went weirder and weirder. Isn't ironic to see the leaders of the competing Unificationist branches presently unable to heartily come together and discuss at the same table? They would need academics (CESNUR), or professional counselors from outside to help and save them!

We have reached the ridiculous point where cosmic messiahs, who claim to be God’s inspired experts in reconciliation and Peacemaking, desperately need themselves the secular guidance and “worldly” advices from “the fallen lost ones” they supposedly came to save.  Isn't becoming urgent and necessary to re-evaluate the obsolete Divine Principle concepts of “Messiah”, “True Parents” and “True Family" ?

It's now perfectly clear that no superficial cosmetic repair will ever mend the cracks that were already there, from the very beginning, within the Moon family. The roots of the problem are definitely much deeper than it seemed.

Only a sound theology which does return all glory to God alone, can lastingly heal all these cracks. The first most urgent and unavoidable task remains the removal of the huge stumbling block which had created the original crack. And this stumbling block is simply SMM’s illusory messianic claim!

As a fake messiah, SMM had literally to daily brainwash himself and his followers. He had to constantly implement in his own mind and his disciples’ minds the weird concept that he was the returning messiah in the flesh. He deceivingly convinced himself and others that he should be allowed to require anything, any time, from anyone on earth. He then had to invent and regularly re-adjust a fascinating legend to keep the control over his flock.

In all the sermons he delivered, SMM systematically used “if” as a premise for all his imaginary theological “explanations”. That’s how he managed to set up the weird Unificationist theology which he always backed up with uncheckable “justifications”. The Unification Church therefore became the “if” church: If Adam and Eve…, If Abraham…, If Jesus…., If Christians…, If America…, then…

But what if, at the very beginning, when for the very first time SMM did mention he was the Second Advent in the flesh, someone would have lovingly told him: “Come on, that’s a joke! (Not to say that’s a crack!)...why don’t you come and join our soccer team?”.

This undeniably would have prevented many painful subsequent cracks to take place. But SMM was obviously not a team person. He always believed he was more special than others…

However, we all need real friends who will never hesitate to tell us the truth.

SMM never had such a friend. He had this crack in his heart which became a crack in his head…

To conclude on a much lighter tone, one may wonder: Can a crown help when you have a crack in the head?

Unfortunately, no, as the UM history has sadly been proving it…
