THE UM MAKING OF THE BERLIN WALL LEGEND

On August 8^th 1987, Steve Moon who had been appointed as World Carp leader, came to Berlin for a demonstration near the Berlin wall. The motto was: “Die mauer muss weg” (“The wall must disappear”). The atmosphere was very tense and confused. Violent communists and “anti-fascist groups” were shouting and throwing things at demonstrators.  In front of the wall, Steve gave a speech and prayed there together with the small attending crowd.

Was actually anyone there in West Berlin “for the wall”? Was anyone on that day willing to defend the relevance of this wall? No! Absolutely no one!  And for sure, on the East Berlin side, for years thousands had intensely been praying day and night for the destruction of that wall. And alas many East Germans have been murdered while desperately trying to cross the wall and escape to freedom…

Therefore, on that day, counter-demonstrators were not actually there to “defend” the wall, but to oppose the worrisome threat of the “Moonie sect” and its weird “far-right stands under the banner of anti-communism”.

Meanwhile Carp members probably interpreted such "persecution" as an efficient mean to “pay more indemnity” and be more “victorious”…

The two small opposing groups met in Berlin. Both considered themselves as determined “white knights” fighting “righteously” oppression and enslavement. But only one camp was ostensibly praying to God. The others thought it was all up to them to defeat “Evil”…

There exists a weird theory which states that a mere wing movement of a butterfly, anywhere in the world can generate tsunamis and world-wide cataclysms elsewhere. In a similar way the members of the Carp movement believe their Berlin demonstration had indeed cosmic consequences. Therefore Unificationists now confidently believe that  Steve Moon's prayer on that day had such a power to generate the crumbling of the Berlin wall which happened 2 years later in 1989.

Not surprising that on August 8^th 2017, 30 years after the Berlin demonstration , with great nostalgia and reverence, some veterans from the “victorious battle” organized a kind of “pilgrimage” (with their children) around the place where ”Die mauer” used to stand. They didn't came to celebrate the fall of the wall itself, but what they have the privilege to know as being the hidden cause behind the fall of the wall. After all, they had provoked it by praying together there with Steve Moon!

Like a “trumpets of Jericho” modern myth, the legend of Steve’s prayer at the Berlin wall can then be transmitted. 

At least within the confidential indoctrinated circle of the few “chosen ones” who still believe Steve Moon was an exemplary righteous man who has changed the destiny of the communist world.

And for sure, it’s better for these youngsters to believe that than to become cocaine addicts…
